2025 Roots Farmshare – Week 14

On the Farm

Newsletters have not been as in-depth because we are under construction and have been very busy. We are placing three shipping containers for storage, a mushroom grow operation, and a vermicomposting operation! We will have deliveries and heavy equipment here over the next week or so and plan to share pictures soon. We will be greatly expanding our offerings in 2026!

Recipes & Meal Inspiration

1. Romaine & Cucumber Salad with Garlic Chive DressingChop romaine and cucumbers, toss with olive oil, rice vinegar, salt, and a sprinkle of chopped garlic chives.

2. Mizuna Stir-FryQuick sauté mizuna with garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Serve with rice or noodles for a light meal.

3. Chard & Carrot SautéSauté chard stems and sliced carrots until tender. Add the chard greens and cook until just wilted. Finish with lemon juice.

4. Roasted Beet & Cabbage SlawRoast cubed beets, then toss with thinly shredded purple cabbage, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and basil. Great warm or chilled.

5. Basil Pesto (for pasta, grilled veggies, or as a spread)Blend basil, garlic chives, nuts (almonds or walnuts work well), olive oil, and salt. Use on grilled vegetables or as a sandwich spread.

6. Chilled Beet & Cucumber SoupBlend roasted beets and fresh cucumbers with yogurt (or coconut cream), dill, and lemon juice. Chill and serve as a refreshing summer soup.

Pickup Instructions

Each Farmshare member will receive a Roots Farm tote bag for pickups. Your share will be packed in a plastic tote—please unpack it into your own container or bag onsite.If someone else is picking up your share or you're unable to attend, let us know so we can arrange a donation.
