Roots Farmshare Newsletter – Week 1
June 2026
Welcome to the first Farm Share pickup of the season!
After months of seed starting, greenhouse work, transplanting, weeding, mulching, and hoping for sunshine between spring rains, we are thrilled to finally begin sharing the harvest with you. Thank you for supporting local agriculture and trusting us to grow food for your family.
Early-season shares are always a celebration of spring flavors. While the boxes start out lighter than peak summer abundance, each week brings new crops as the farm comes into production. We have lots growing in the field and are excited for the season ahead.

On the Farm
The strawberries have finally arrived! These first berries are always one of our favorite signs that summer is on its way.
The garlic is growing beautifully, and this week's green garlic and garlic scapes are a special seasonal treat that only come around for a short time each year. Garlic scapes can be used much like garlic cloves and are excellent in stir-fries, eggs, soups, roasted vegetables, and pesto.
The fields are filling in quickly, and we have peas, carrots, beets, lettuce, summer squash, and many other crops coming along behind the scenes.
Kitchen Inspiration
Mizuna Salad
Toss mizuna with strawberries, sliced radishes, and a simple vinaigrette for a fresh spring salad.
Garlic Scape Pesto
Blend garlic scapes, olive oil, nuts or seeds, parmesan (optional), and salt for a delicious pesto.
Bok Choy Stir Fry
Quickly sauté bok choy with green garlic and your favorite protein for an easy weeknight meal.
